Created by Just Runners in partnership with the APA, this is the first industry-accredited qualification focused on on-set soft skills. The course builds a clear understanding of professional standards, etiquette, and the language of the film industry, preparing new talent for the realities of freelance work. It includes:
Day course
Written exam
Site visits with an induction tour
Teamwork assessment
The aim is to reduce imposter syndrome and build confidence, ensuring new starters are recognised by fellow crew as having a solid grasp of professional expectations.

If you are a head of department in the industry then choose your crew through us. Avoid the traditional trope of new starts coming through personal contacts. All of us can create an effective pathway visible to film makers from all over the country.
If you are established in the industry and want to give back. Sponsor us. Just Runners provides outreach across the country for free and we want to continue to do so. We need help to do that.
If you are in education and run a media course. Talk to us. Lets connect and channel graduates from your course towards work.
If you are outside the industry and perhaps you feel that opportunities were denied to you and you don’t want to see that happen to yet another generation then you can still help. Our runners have lots of transferable skills and need to earn as they learn. If you have an event, party, trip, personal organisation, filing, office jobs or care needs we can provide capable people at last minute to allow you to ‘get things done’ and you can provide fantastic support to people starting off and chasing their dream.
We supply runners for film shoots. We are pro-diversity. Gender, race, class, religion and disability do not hinder talent, lack of opportunity does. We represent those who do not know someone in the industry.
These are some of the production companies that are working with us to help create inclusivity within the film industry. Just Runners can make recruiting easier by having the time to source, vet and represent fresh talent but it is only employers who can create inclusive employment.

Our Alumni have an amazing track record - 70% of ex Just Runners have gone on to establish careers in film production. A further 17% went on to enrol in media/film courses or to work in theatre. We hope that our prized alumni, who are progressing through the ranks, are the first of many.
